From Jump Rope to Jazz

Sam Heminger studied music at Seattle University and got his Orff Certification from The San Francisco Orff Course. He has been teaching at Syngergy School, a progressive K-8 school, for seven years and has presented for various chapters around the country. He is also a working jazz musician in his hometown of San Francisco and a founding member of the Orff-Jazz band, The Pentatonics.
Joshi Marshall is a professional musician, composer, and educator. He received his Level III Orff Certification from The San Francisco Orff Course and is the Music Teacher at Presidio Hill School, a progressive independent TK-8 school in San Francisco. He has taught children of all ages, preschool through high school, and has worked at both public and private schools around the bay area. He regularly teaches Orff Schulwerk workshops for educators, parents and children.

In the summer months, Joshi directs a music camp he founded in Oakland, CA and teaches recorder at The San Francisco International Orff Course in Carmel, CA. Joshi has toured the world as a professional musician, recorded on numerous albums, and performs regularly with his Jazz ensemble, The Joshi Marshall Project.
